The chancellor's announcement last week of the proposed sugar tax becoming enforced in 2018 and really split the public. Is this just another tax on poor people or an attempt to promote healthier food choices?

What are your views? How can we as dentists and DCPs promote this policy and help our patients to understand the importance of sugar intake on oral health as well as general systemic health?

Let me know your thoughts!

DCPs need to be proactive and work with public health campaign such as this new campaign encouraging parents to get "sugar smart" and take control of their children sugar intake Sugar tax by itself will not be sufficient. Welcom inputs from DCPs on how to help parents and their children
